We Stand Up for the Most Vulnerable.
iNursingHomeAbuse is a nationwide network with a singular mission: to give families the power to protect their loved ones when a nursing home or care facility fails them.
We work with experienced attorneys across the United States who focus exclusively on nursing home abuse, neglect, and wrongful death cases. This means families never have to face the system alone or wonder where to turn.
Whether your loved one was harmed in a nursing home, assisted living facility, memory care unit, or long-term care center — we are ready to help.

Bedsores are almost always a sign of neglect. These painful wounds develop when residents aren’t turned, cleaned, or monitored regularly, and advanced pressure ulcers can lead to severe infection or death. Because proper care prevents nearly all bedsores, their presence often indicates skipped routines or poor staffing — especially when a facility struggles to explain how the wound developed.

Falls are among the most common — and preventable — injuries in nursing homes. When residents aren’t properly supervised, assisted during transfers, or protected with basic safety equipment, they can suffer broken hips, head injuries, and long-term disability. Many facilities try to dismiss falls as “just part of aging,” but most serious falls happen because someone failed to follow a care plan or provide the support your loved one needed.

Medication errors occur when staff give the wrong drug, wrong dose, or miss doses entirely, often due to rushing, poor communication, or understaffing. Even minor mistakes can lead to confusion, falls, hospitalization, or dangerous reactions. When a resident’s behavior or health shifts suddenly and the facility’s explanation doesn’t make sense, it may be tied to a medication error.

Dehydration and malnutrition happen when residents aren’t given enough water, aren’t assisted during meals, or have medical conditions that impair appetite without follow-up. These conditions weaken the body, compromise immunity, and can become life-threatening. Rapid weight loss, constant thirst, or ongoing fatigue may signal that your loved one is not receiving the basic care they need.

Infections — like UTIs, pneumonia, or wound infections — can become life-threatening quickly if staff fail to monitor symptoms or notify a doctor. Sepsis, a severe reaction to untreated infection, is tragically common in facilities with poor hygiene or delayed care. When a once-stable resident suddenly becomes confused, feverish, or weak, an untreated infection may be the cause.

Residents with dementia rely on staff to keep them safe. When supervision fails, they may wander into unsafe areas, leave the building, or become injured or lost. Elopement is among the most dangerous failures a facility can make and often reflects serious lapses in staffing, alarms, or oversight. These incidents are preventable when a care plan is followed.

Residents who have swallowing difficulties need specially prepared diets and close supervision during meals. When facilities ignore dietary orders or rush residents through eating, choking becomes a serious — and often fatal — risk. Sudden coughing, meal refusal, or fear at mealtime can be signs that your loved one isn’t being monitored properly.

Understaffed or poorly supervised facilities allow residents to harm one another physically, emotionally, or sexually. Cognitive impairment, aggression, or confusion can lead to dangerous interactions if staff aren’t present. Unexplained bruises, fear, or behavior changes may indicate that another resident caused harm — a failure the facility is responsible for preventing.

When staffing is too low or care plans aren’t followed, residents are left unsupervised in dangerous situations. This can lead to falls, wandering, choking, medication mistakes, and other preventable injuries. Families often notice unanswered call lights, rushed staff, or residents left alone — all signs of a facility failing its basic duty of care.

Improper use of restraints — from tying residents down to overusing sedating medications — can cause bruising, suffocation risk, emotional trauma, and rapid physical decline. Facilities sometimes misuse restraints to compensate for low staffing. When a resident becomes unusually drowsy, fearful, or loses mobility quickly, improper restraint use may be the cause.

Unsafe transfers during toileting, bathing, or bed-to-chair movements can lead to falls, fractures, or head injuries. Equipment like Hoyer lifts must be used correctly and with enough staff to support the resident. Injuries during transfers often indicate inadequate training, rushing, or a facility ignoring basic safety protocols.

Facilities that hire unqualified or unvetted staff put residents at risk of rough handling, disregard, theft, or abuse. High turnover, reliance on temporary staff, or poor supervision can create an unsafe environment. Families often first notice misconduct through staff attitudes — impatience, irritation, or dismissiveness — which may signal deeper problems behind the scenes.
We Help You Seek Justice, Every Step of the Way.
Initial Case Review
You tell us what happened, we listen. No cost. No pressure. 100% confidential.
We’ll ask a few questions and help you determine whether abuse or neglect may have occurred — even if you're not sure.

We Match You With a Qualified Attorney
If your case qualifies, we connect you directly with a trusted, pre-screened elder abuse attorney in your state.
Every attorney in our network has experience with nursing home abuse, wrongful death, and elder neglect cases.

Your Legal Team Investigates the Facility
Your legal team digs into every detail; medical records, staff reports, witness statements, and expert analysis.
They uncover the truth and expose what really happened behind closed doors, building a case so you don't have to.

Settlement or Lawsuit
Most cases settle, but if the facility refuses to cooperate, your attorney will file a lawsuit and fight for full accountability.
You stay in control the whole way, and you still pay nothing unless you win.

Compensation & Accountability
If your case succeeds, you may receive compensation for medical costs, pain and suffering, relocation, emotional distress, or wrongful death — and the facility is held accountable so it doesn’t happen again.
Justice for your loved one is also protection for the next one.

Real People. Real Justice.
“The minute I brought up my mom’s weight loss, the staff at the facility stopped pick up the phone. After I got outside support, they suddenly responded.”

“Nobody wants to believe the red flags that something is wrong. I started doubting myself. Calling here was the first time someone said, ‘No — you’re right to be concerned.'"
